Carnival of Venice 

The Carnival of Venice is unique in the world and the tradition goes back to the XI century, although not declared a public holiday until two centuries later. 

The Carnival of Venice reached its peak in the eighteenth century, a time when attending the festival a few aristocrats who came from very different places, and very often was that the princes and nobles flee to enjoy the event. 

For centuries it was the escape route for citizens to escape the great Venetian government control. With the occupation of Venice by Napoleon's army Carnival was banned for fear that it generated plots. The Carnival was recovered in 1979. 

How does it develop?

The Carnival is totally different from the Spanish image, and much more to Brazil. During the 10 day duration, people dress up and goes outside to walk and take pictures, whether in parades organized or improvised. 

The costumes are period costumes of the seventeenth century Venice, as if fresh from a painting by Canaletto.
During Carnival also organized many events and festivals, some of them private it is difficult to assist without knowing someone. Prices for parties are also often high, and one night can cost up to 500 €. 

Does everyone dresses up?

The vast majority of tourists are not limited to dress or wear a mask or mask bought in thousands of shops and street stalls abound Venice. The goal of most visitors is to see Venice at carnival and take pictures with the best costumes. In this blog I will post my school homework for Level 2. I will use it to practice writing, listening, speaking and reading. Also, i will share it with my classmates and people from the world.

Hi, there! My name’s Veronica Tirrito but you can call me Vero. I’m from Maracaibo, originally. I live in Maracaibo. I’m 18 years old and I study Graphic Diesign at URBE . My favorite subjects are Workshop, Expressions Techniques and English. This trimester I am taking 6 classes and I am in the 2nd trimester.

I love music ♪, drawing, painting, sing, studying English, travel, out with friends, ❥my boyfriend, chocolate, video games, the movies, read, the anime, pizza, ice cream and my cat.

I hate , injustice, violence, hypocrisy, bad taste, when I get depressed.

My dream is to travel around the world, visit China, Dubai, Italia, Londres and Nueva York. Of course, I want to graduate from Graphic Diesing and be a good designer. I also want to learn to speak English, and Italian. I’d love to work in an important company and buy a house, get married and start a family.


About English, I love to learn new languages. I think English is very important. I listen to music and watch TV in English. It’s a good exercise. I also chat on the internet and have friends in many countries. I can write well, but I need to practice more. The most difficult for me is speaking. I want to practice in class and out of class, too. I hope I can make a lot of friends and practice speaking in this class.
